What phone should i get?

i'm getting a phone for my dad. he wants a touch screen and something that's easy to type on. he has a blackberry now and hates it. i have a droid that i really like and kinda want to get but i think he's leaning towards an iphone. can somebody tell me the pros and cons of the iphone from verizon? thanks so much!
