Constantly greasy nose? Also red & Nothing works?

My nose always has ALOT of grease on it. Up to a couple months ago, it would actually get dry, and I wouldn't describe it as greasy at all. Now, Right after I get out of the shower, it's shiny. As a way to try and combat the grease and try to dry my nose somewhat, I put rubbing alcohol on it in the morning and before I go to bed. I just don't understand, the rest of my skin is very dry and I need to moisturize twice a day. Can someone help with this problem? Also I might add, Blotting sheets aren't an option because I do wear light liquid foundation on my nose because it is also very red, but has been for a long time, have any tips for that as well? Can this be a false positive result?

Hi there. Today, I received a letter from planned parenthood telling me that I had tested positive for my herpes test. I am devastated right now but am skeptical too. I was tested by Quest Diagnostics for both HSV-1 and HSV-2 (IGG) and both came out negative about 5 weeks ago and I was tested by our city's health department about three weeks ago and that result came out negative as well. My blood sample was taken about two weeks ago, about a week or so after my last negative test. And on top of that, both of my partners are negative with the first being tested for everything three weeks before we had oral sex (and didn't see anyone else between the results and me) and the second just got recently tested and she came out negative too (which is odd considering I am supposedly positive, wouldn't she be too?) I am really depressed at the moment and have been reading alot of info on the internet that deals with false positive test results and result errors with planned parenthood. Apparently, they don't use western blots which is the most efficient protocol to use for detecting HSV. Can someone tell me what might be going on? And why the hell PP decided to mail home a letter saying Im positive as opposed to calling me or even telling me to come in?

Recurrent acute pancreatitis, please help!!!!!?

MY daughter will be two years old soon. She has had seven cases of acute pancreatitis. SInce her last episode she has had more sensitivity to food and her poop has never been normal. It is always stinky, greasy, bright green, or pale yellow-gray, and is always fairly loose. We have not had her tested yet for chronic pancreatitis and I've done some research on my own, but I can't seem to come up with clear cut answers as to whether or not her pancreas has sustained damage. Also I asked a doctor what her prognosis is and he completely skirted by the issue. I can handle the truth and I need some answers if you have them or websites that I can visit to find out more. How long will she likely live if she has already progressed to chronic pancreatitis before the age of 2? Fyi, the reasons for her condition are two genetic mutations of her CFTR that are BOTH linked to pancreatitis. I feel like this may be a losing battle but I am trying as hard as I can with diet modifications to prevent any more problems. One last thing I would like to know is if there are any really good websites on what not to eat and what to eat when suffering from chronic pancreatitis. I just recently realized that the fortified orange juice I was giving her was not good because of how acidic it is. I don't think you're supposed to mix different cleansers when washing your face. If you completely strip your face of the oil, it sends even /more/ oil to your face so your skin doesn't dry out. If this isn't the problem though, I personally use oil sheets. I believe they're from Neutrogena. You just dab them on your face and you can see the oil that was absorbed. They work very well. I get what you are saying. I think it can be a factor, but its not the rule. I think a girls promiscuity is directly tied to her sense of self worth and self confidence. My face tends to get oily after a couple of hours of washing. I use blotting papers regularly but I want my face to stay matte for a long time! I use oil free moisturiser on my skin then apply loose powder on my face, hoping it would help stay less oily (i don't want to use compact powder because I don't want people to know I'm wearing makeup and I don't want it to appear cakey and clog my pores). Yes you will need to relocate the wiper transmission, then re-size the link arm that runs it. It may take a little bit of fabrication to get it done, but i do think you will be able to. Examine the stroke of the wiper motor and pick a position for the wiper trans, then cut the transfer link to the length you need. Make sure the wiper motor comes to the rest stop so it wont keep re-cycling. It wont be able to find the stop position if you do not somehow change the transfer to linear back and forth. The motor is set up for rotary drive and will keep cycling it if does not sense the wiper arm as stopped against the rest.

Help fix my sometimes dry & flaky sometimes oily face?

Okay so my face can't make up it's mind. It's dry to the point where if i itch my face, it'll flake. So when i put on my foundation it looks totally weird because the flakes make it splotchy. BUT my face is oily to the point where my face gets shiny fast and all the time. And it's gets oily so i have to blot it with blotting papers sometimes. I need some kind of moisturizer or something. Something thick maybe that'll help the flakes, but mattifying at the same time. Or maybe a face mask/scrub or something. Nothing too expensive! Homemade works too. Thanks so much guys!

Do i need to exfoliate if i have acne?

I have bad acne myself... i don't use make up because it only makes matters worse... especially because it clogs your pores... which causes more back up in your skin.... but yes you should exfoliate.. but only about once a week if that... maybe once every other week. being to harsh on your skin can cause your oils to become excessive... trying to make up for the over dryness. But i would try a gentle scrub... and use lots of moisturizer... its the best thing for your skin. I use neutrogena.. and i love it... i tried everything.. proactive skin ID and like clinique and a bunch of crap nothing really works .. it does for a little then my face is back to normal. I would try the sonic wave... and use the regular cleaning pads daily.. (if your face gets to dry then every other day) then ad a scrub directly to the pad for your exfoliation..,. i would try it... that's what i do... and it seems to be working well.... i also use the topical gel epiduo .. but its that thing like " blame biology" but ask your Dr. about it... that's where i got mine... i got worse before i showed signs of getting better... hope this helps!

Clean and clear morning burst shine control does NOT work. I have tried it, it does absolutely nothing. the best wash to use for oily skin is something with salycilic acid.

Problem with Blackberry curve 3G from AT&T.?

Yesterday, AT&T's service crashed in south Florida, so everyone ( or mostly everyone's ) phones stopped working. But then, after the service was reportedly fixed, my blackberry was still not working. I can receive text messages, but I can't reply to them, or send them myself. I can't receive, or make calls either. But the web browsing, and applications like twitter still work. Does anybody else have this problem? I tried battery pulls already. Should I go to the store and try to have it fixed, or just get a new phone?

Help on modification of a bandpass subwoofer box !?

I bought this 12" bandpass box that was supposedly really nice and it is but there is one problem. The lip that holds the plexiglass cover on is partially blocking the way for my subwoofer to get in the box. I messsed up already I bought a 12" kicker CVX and there was no way it fit in my box, with the lip the opening for my sub to get in is a sliver under 11" and the cvx's basket was too big to tilt it in. But to get to the point my question is is there an easy way i could saw the lip for the plexiglass off get my sub in there and once my sub is in there screw the lip back on and seal it with some sealer or apoxy or something ? or will that ruin the box'x sound because its a bandpass it needs that to be sealed, but i dont know anything about making or modifying box's so somebody please help !!!???

I have a 5 week old baby boy. He used to projectile throw up every day now I have it handled to almost never once a week at max. He has severe belly problems, His belly is always brick hard. His burps are louder then mine and seem like they hurt some times and He screams and cries when he passes gas. He seems very uncomfortable. We burp him every 1/2 to 1 ounce.. He has anti colic tommee tippee bottles and is on soy concentrate isomil. I had him on mylicon but it is 11 bucks for a half an ounce and he was getting it every time he ate. What could be causing my overly vivid dreams the past few nights?

It seems that for the past week I haven't been getting the restful sleep I used to be getting, though part of this is due to a slight modification of what time I was waking up over the weekend. Confused and Worried..Please Help!?

ok so im joing the military in 4 weeks and im alittle nervous...i went and had all my blood work by my doctor including Std's and HIV, and everything came back negative for std's and hiv and all other blood work was normal...my problem here is that i had sex with this girl i barely know maybe 3 weeks before the tests and the condom broke but we continued to have sex...everything was fine i felt fine and now maybe 2 months later i feel acky all over and im tired all the time even if i sleep 12 hours i still feel the need to take a nap during the day at some point,plus i have diarreh...Everyone is telling me im crazy for thinking i might have HIV because the most obvious symptoms that something is wrong is fever and swollen lymphnoids which i havent had at all...i went to the doctor yesterday and he checked my throat (physically and by sight) and nothing was there or wrong he said the only thing i had was post nasal drip and he said that i have a common cold or virus which is making me tired and all the muscle aches..but im scared out of my wits...i know i shouldnt worry cause i have proof i have nothing but i read that sometimes they come up false negative this and that..i also asked what test he used for hiv and he said it was a rapid test which i dont know what that is but he said its the earliest detecion one out there plus a western blot test and everything came back normal and not to worry but i been freaking out day in and day out over this which i know deep down is nothing but my mind has taken over and is telling me i have something..i know anxiety can play a magor roll in someone thinking they have something rather than them really having it and this can def. be a possibility...just please help...And please dont just say go get tested ive done that alreadyand will be doing again for the army...please help any way you can

I am having black, sticky stool?

I know this sounds disgusting, but I'm really looking for advice here, it's not to joke around or be gross. Two weeks ago I started on some new anti-depressant/anxiety medications, that I am now taking with my old anti-depressant. I am on 100 mg of Seroquel, 20 mg of Lexepro, and 150 mg of Trazodone (which I was on before). Three days ago I had thin, black stool and blood clots in the toilet, as well as some bright red blood. I don't think I tore anything because I didn't feel any pain, just abdominal cramping and general discomfort and nausea (which I regularly have). I am not on my period, I ended that two weeks ago, and the blood I am 100% sure was not from there. I'm 16, and I'm not in school right now, otherwise I would ask the nurse at the school. The first time there was so much blood that the water was fogged up to the point where it was very hard to see through. The bright red blood is not as dominant when I go now though, but there are still clots and blots of it. My stool is black and it's very uncomfortable to go to the bathroom because (this is gross) when I try to the stool works out about four inches but just sticks there unless I get toilet paper and pull it off. I have a very healthy diet and I am also on medication for stomach ulcers. My parents are out of state for a wedding, I have called them and talked to them about this but their return flight is three days from now. I have a permit but not a license, meaning I can't legally drive myself to the hospital to get it checked out. Please, any advice you can give me on how to deal with this would be helpful. I don't know if it is caused by my new medication or not, but I would hate to stop taking that now as it's just starting to work.

So, I have this big and bulky Nokia phone and I somehow feel embarrassed to use it. Most of my friends have slim and cool phones like iPhone or BlackBerry or Sony Xperia. Can my Child Support be raised even though I am unemployed?

This is actually not about me this is about my fiance. I will make a long story short...He has been unemployed for 7 months now. He was terminated from his position. About 1 month ago he received legal documents for the Prosecuting Attorney's office concerning child support modification that was being demanded by the state, not the Mother! Regardless of the fact that he is not working. They are going based off of his last employment even though it has been 7 months since he worked there. I was not aware that they could do this!! Obviously he can't pay it! And so now it is just going to pile up in more back support. He still makes the state minimum payment every month so he is paying something at least! We tried to get a lawyer and had a consultation but he said that it would take fighting with the Prosecuting Attorney and could cost us up to $5,000. What are the laws and what can we do if anything?

Is what's inside a lava lamp harmful for my health?

I broke my lava lamp on my carpet. Luckily the glass part didn't break, but the pop came off and blue liquid spilled in what looked like a 20 inch puddle. Why is my loading control giving me so many bands (western blot)?

I ran an SDS-PAGE today to test 4 different loading controls: tubulin, actin, GAPDH1, and GAPDH4. The tubulin and actin didn't even show up, but both of the GAPDH's showed up in several bands. There were so many bands both of them looked like they could be ladders. I did accidently boil the samples for an excess of 10 minutes, could this cause the proteins to degrade enough to create so many bands? If not, what could have gone wrong?

What is a good first car that runs well right from the factory? You have no choice but to move on. All you can do is encourage a healthy relationship between father and son. You cannot make the father be the man that he should be. You have to move on. You have to make a life for you and your son. If moving on to you means dating, that does not mean that your ex is out of the picture. I tried some skincares for oily skin, and nothing helped...clinique, st. ives, spectro gel...can someone recommend one that will really help reduce the oil? Wow, not great advice from most. I am an aesthetician (facialist) and you DO need to use proper products. Look for a face wash for oily skin (read the label). You then need to use an astringent based toner. Here is the crucial thing. . . YES you do need to use a moisturizer. One that is oil free. PLEASE do not listen to the people who tell you not to moisturize. Here is why. . . if you try to "dry" out your skin, your skin will think it needs to produce more oil (sebum) to compensate. It's sort of like starving your body when you diet and your metabolism shuts down. Opposite of what you want. After doing these 3 things (and NO it does not take an hour, a few extra minutes is all), use a mineral base such as bare minerals.

I still do. You can see some of my pictures of some fountain pens which I use. The ink blots and leaks are just a myth (at least for modern fountain pens). Mine do not blot or leak unless I force it to. But I agree that you cannot get a smoother writing tool than what you can get from a fountain pen. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Confused and Worried..Please Help!?

ok so im joing the military in 4 weeks and im alittle nervous...i went and had all my blood work by my doctor including Std's and HIV, and everything came back negative for std's and hiv and all other blood work was normal...my problem here is that i had sex with this girl i barely know maybe 3 weeks before the tests and the condom broke but we continued to have sex...everything was fine i felt fine and now maybe 2 months later i feel acky all over and im tired all the time even if i sleep 12 hours i still feel the need to take a nap during the day at some point,plus i have diarreh...Everyone is telling me im crazy for thinking i might have HIV because the most obvious symptoms that something is wrong is fever and swollen lymphnoids which i havent had at all...i went to the doctor yesterday and he checked my throat (physically and by sight) and nothing was there or wrong he said the only thing i had was post nasal drip and he said that i have a common cold or virus which is making me tired and all the muscle aches..but im scared out of my wits...i know i shouldnt worry cause i have proof i have nothing but i read that sometimes they come up false negative this and that..i also asked what test he used for hiv and he said it was a rapid test which i dont know what that is but he said its the earliest detecion one out there plus a western blot test and everything came back normal and not to worry but i been freaking out day in and day out over this which i know deep down is nothing but my mind has taken over and is telling me i have something...please help any way you can...thanks in advance..John A.

I think everyone would handle this situation differently, but the fact that she divorces him and cuts all ties between him and his son is a little harsh. What's a great moisturizer with spf for combination/oily skin?

I have used different kinds of moisturizers from drugstore to department store brands but none of them seem to work. Most moisturizers that I found in the market that control shine have salicylic acid which I am allergic to (my face is very sensitive but not prone to break outs). I also have to carry my oil blotting sheet and face powder in my purse everywhere I go just so I can control the shine on my face. At the end of the day my face ends up really oily that it's embarrassing me. Help!

Our home slipped into foreclosure in 2008. At first, the bank was gun ho on foreclosing and actually had 2 sales scheduled, both of which they dropped for some reasons. Then, they stopped trying to foreclosure shortly after we received a Motion stating that they could not produce the original mortgage note. Since 2009. its been back and forth with paperwork about different loan modification programs, none of which has worked as of yet. We are still "working on it with the lender". It just seems to us that when they couldn't produce the original deed, they sort of realized that their only hope in obtaiing any mortgage payments was to get a modification by their company in the works so they could have original mortgage paperwork for themselves. Makes sense to us - how about you? If they can't work a deal with us for the modification and they still can't produce the original deed, what will happen?
