Blackberry Messanger help?

I heard there was a way doing it using the firewall .. but my messages still seem to send to people... and sometimes i get them? Has anyone got step-by-step instructions ... I know you go ... Options>Security Option>Firewall> Then im unsure what to click and if it has to be disabled or enabled for it work... Thanks =]
